History
Our MSK (musculoskeletal) practitioner will take a full medical, medication, lifestyle & occupational history to determine whether any of these factors may cause or contribute to your presenting condition. This information is taken during a private consultation and stored on our secure database for your privacy & security.
Assessment
There are three elements to a Footscan©. Firstly, we assess you standing to analyse your posture. We then assess your balance to determine proprioception and muscle strength. Finally we analyse your gait (walking/running) to get a detailed dynamic report of your lower limb mechanics.
Treatment
One we have analysed the data, we can make a informed diagnosis and offer a treatment plan if necessary. Conditions caused by repetitive pressure and forces can be successfully treated by:
- Modifying lifestyle, sport &, footwear.
- Strengthening & stretching exercises.
- Orthoses (prescription insoles)
- Shockwave and laser therapy.
Cornish Podiatry Clinic is a PHITS 3D Footscan© accredited clinic.
